As part of the fruitful cooperation between the National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSMC) and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), an important step has been taken in informing investors around the world about suspicious investment projects identified in Ukraine.
From now on, the list of suspicious investment projects, which the NSSMC has been compiling for many years, is available on the official IOSCO website in the Investor Alerts Portal section at the link.
This initiative is aimed at increasing the transparency of the financial system and protecting investors from illegitimate activities. Among other things, it is aimed at companies that do not have proper permits and licenses to provide investment services in the relevant jurisdiction, as well as those that misuse the names of legitimate firms and claim to have links with them without appropriate grounds.
Iraklii Baramiia, Commissioner, said: «This step makes it possible to expand the boundaries of information security and protect potential investors around the world from possible financial fraud. This initiative is most effective not only for Ukrainians but also for IOSCO members. After all, the exchange of information with international colleagues and timely information is the key to creating a safe investment environment».
The NSSMC, being a member of IOSCO since 1996, seeks to actively cooperate with international partners and implement the basic principles and recommendations of IOSCO and the International Monetary Fund into Ukrainian legislation, thereby contributing to the protection of investors’ rights.
We remind you that if you have any information about potentially suspicious actions in the financial markets, please report it to the NSSMC at [email protected].
