The Commissioners Yurii Boiko and Maksym Libanov, together with the Ukrainian delegation, participated in the training of the OSCE project «Innovative policy solutions to mitigate money laundering risks of virtual assets», which took place in Vienna.
The following questions and practical cases were considered by the participants:
• progress in the development of national legislation regarding the circulation of virtual assets and service providers;
• the course of formation and development of the national policy of taxation of operations with virtual assets;
• the main risks of using cryptocurrency for money laundering/terrorist financing/sanction evasion;
• key anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing requirements for cryptoasset service providers;
• the main steps of checking information about the client’s crypto asset;
• basic principles of investigation of cryptocurrency transactions;
• main categories of crypto market participants with information necessary for investigation, etc.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the VRU Committee on Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the VRU Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy.
The NSSMC is constantly developing and acquiring practical international knowledge for the successful launch of the virtual assets market in Ukraine.
