The NSSMC will allow foreign debt securities to be traded in Ukraine on its own initiative

The NSSMC (National Securities and Stock Market Commission) has the right to grant admission to debt securities issued by foreign countries on its own initiative:

• Italian Republic,
• Canada,
• United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,
• United States of America,
• Federal Republic of Germany,
• French Republic,
• Japan.

The NSSMC amended the Regulation on the Admission of Securities of Foreign Issuers to Circulation in Ukraine (Resolution No. 34 dated January 21, 2021).

The NSSMC plans to receive information on debt securities issued by the above-mentioned foreign countries that may be admitted to circulation in Ukraine by the NSSMC and in respect of which there is interest from capital market participants, as well as information on restrictions on the circulation of these securities, from PJSC National Depository of Ukraine.

The NSSMC is actively working to expand opportunities for investing in foreign financial instruments. As of August 24, 2023, a total of 516 securities of foreign issuers were admitted to circulation in Ukraine, of which 412 securities of foreign issuers (S&P 500 index) were admitted at the initiative of the NSSMC.
